Iris Hartman reflects on her tainted youth by capturing her unspeakable bond with nature in photographs. She has a reverence for the environment, which is formed - just like human nature - both by prosperity and adversity. In her images, she uses nature as a decor in which trees act as personae with individual characters. By making use of light and artificial interventions, she entices the viewer to share her admiration and encourages us to intimately connect with this resilient environment.
